Music Interview: Ghetto Ken on his creative tastes, musical influences & new single ‘Little Things’ ft. Ji and Quisy G

Emerging hip hop artist Ghettó Kén debuts with his single ‘Little Things’, featuring artists Ji and Quisy G.

‘Little Things’ is a song about how certain little things can have a big impact on life, and how important it is to remember this. Although rooted in R&B and hip hop vibrations, it is a track with which Ghettó Kén immediately shows how much his creativity is outside certain pre-established schemes.

What Ghettó Kén aims to create with ‘Little Things’ are unique and distinctive vibrations, developed around his abstract and unconventional vocal style, not only from a timbre point of view, but also for the unusual harmonic development.

Music Interview: Ghetto Ken on his creative tastes, musical influences & new single ‘Little Things’ ft. Ji and Quisy G

Great to have you on Xttrawave. Please, introduce yourself?

Hi everybody I go by Ghettó Kén .

I received my name by writing my very first song named “ Ghetto Barbie” after writing this song I felt as though every Barbie in the was in the need of a Ken! (Kén and Barbie) lol.

What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?

Ever  since I was little I had a thing for music, loved the different genres and loved how people expressed their personalities in such a creative way, which inspired me to do so as well.

Tell us about your new music? And what’s the story behind it?

My newest project is called “Little Things” and I wrote this song to remind people how it’s the small things in life that makes a big impact and sometimes we are needing to be reminded of that.

What makes your music unique? And how would you describe it?

I believe it’s unique because it’s me! I’m an abstract person and I always think outside the box. And how I expressed it in my song hook shows that with the help of some friends ( Ji & QuisyG) on the verses.

Do you play any instruments? And why do you love it?

I don’t play any instruments.

Who are your biggest musical influences? And any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?

I am influenced by Michael Jackson, Sisqó, And Missy Elliot.. I definitely would love to collaborate with some female artist like Missy Elliot, Mya, and probably da brat.

Which is the best moment in your musical career that you’re most proud of?

I don’t think I’ve reached that goal yet.. I’m still waiting.

How do you balance your music with other obligations – family, friends or work?

I balance my music with helping take care of elder parents and my younger sister and her kids.

What advice would you give to aspiring musicians?

My advice to others is to do what makes you happy.

If you had one message to give to your fans, what would it be?

To all my fans never give up, always stay positive, and keeping growing as a person spiritually and mentally.

What’s next for you? Any upcoming projects or tours?

I’m currently working on new singles and sometime in the future they will be getting an amazing album to remember!
